Mr Edward Houston BVMS MRCVS
Mr Houston grew up in Clydebank and graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1984.
He spent more than five years working in mixed, predominantly small animal, practice in the Midlands.
He returned to Clydebank in 1990 to join the practice on the retiral of Mr Dominic Boyce.
Miss Joanne Cameron BSc (Hons) BVM&S MRCVS
Having completed an Honours degree in Human Anatomy at Glasgow University, she subsequently graduated in June 2002 from The Royal ‘Dick’ School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh as a Veterinary Surgeon.
She started working in 2003 in a mixed practice treating farm animals, horses and family pets. Miss Cameron joined Boyce and Houston in February 2005.
Joanne is a keen horsewoman, owning four horses, and has 2 dogs and three housecats.
Miss Jill McMaster BVM&S MRCVS
Miss McMaster qualified from The Royal 'Dick' School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh in 2010.
Her first job was in mixed animal practice in Elgin, before moving back to her hometown of Glasgow in 2011. She has been working in small animal practice since then.
Jill has been a welcome addition to our team since joining us in October 2016. She has previously organised and ran charity dog walks to raise funds for the SSPCA and in her spare time enjoys playing hockey and spending time with her Cocker Spaniel Harry.
Mrs AnneMarie Ritchie RVN
Started working as a trainee Veterinary Nurse in a mixed animal practice in January 1994, during this time she attended Elmwood College, Fife where she gained numerous qualifications in Animal Care.
Following training at Barony College she was awarded ‘The Certificate in Veterinary Nursing Studies – with Credit’.
In November 2001 she qualified as a Veterinary Nurse. She has travelled around Australia and New Zealand working as a Veterinary Nurse.
In March 2007 she joined Boyce and Houston and is now Head Nurse.
Miss Jennifer Henderson RVN
Jennifer volunteered at Middlebank Wildlife Centre for three years whilst studying HND Animal Care at Elmwood College, Fife.
During this time she also gained
experience in a veterinary orthopaedic referral practice.
She began Veterinary Nursing training with Telford College, Glasgow Veterinary School and first referral practice in 2006.
She qualified in January 2009 and worked in a mixed animal Veterinary practice before joining Boyce and Houston in February 2009.
- Mrs Charmaine Thomas
Charmaine started voluntary work in 2008 in an animal shelter in Bangor, Maine in America where she developed her skills in animal husbandry. She was subsequently promoted to Animal Care Supervisor. In 2012 she started as a locum trainee Veterinary Nurse.
On her return to the UK in 2013, she continued to gain experience and on the job training, working as a trainee Veterinary Nurse in England before returning home to Scotland and joining Boyce and Houston in May 2015.
Eileen Boyce - Practice Manager
Eileen attended Glasgow College where she achieved a HND in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management.
Her dad was Mr Edward Boyce, better known as Ted, who was a partner in the practice at the time.
Eileen started helping him out as a Saturday girl at the age of 15.
She has been working in Boyce and Houston since 1992. She is now our practice manager and she is in charge of insurance claims and accounts.
After gaining a diploma in Shorthand Typing Margaret went on to work at Wolsey Communications for five years where she had a range of duties including working the switchboard, calculation of wages and the control of maintenance engineers daily workload.
Margaret has been at Boyce and Houston as our receptionist since 1991.
Miss Siobhan McCran
Siobhan studied at Barony College in 2004 where she achieved a SVQ in Animal Care and Welfare.
She went on to work at Loansdean Kennels and Cattery for 10 years. In that time she gained experience in animal husbandry, handling dogs & cats and also reception and administration. In her time of working at Loansdean she was promoted to Assistant Manager.
In November 2014 Siobhan started work at Boyce and Houston as a valuable member of our reception team.
Miss Charlene Glover
Charlene started her working career in 2005 as a receptionist and sales administrator. Since then she has tried a few different careers ranging from Childcare Practioner to Trainee Support Worker.
She has also achieved SVQ level 2 and 3 in Childcare Learning & Development, gained a HND in Social Science and travelled around America.
Charlene has always had a love of animals, and with her reception experience, has been a welcome addition to our reception team since November 2014.
